Shoot it Mario!!!

So yesterday was another football match on a particularly cold English day. I was a sub for this game since there are so many people in the club. We were of course suppose to win this game. Well. we had one very unlucky penalty go through our goal, one miss by the goally and one defensive screw up that took the game from a definate win to a blow-out... until

It was seven minutes til the end of the match. And my captain calls me in to play...but not as a defensive centre back but as a centre mid (?) What the hell to they do! And keep in mind I was wearing one shin pad because one of my mates had forgot his other pad. My captain reassuringly said, "Mario, I apologize in advance if you get hurt." Mario: "Oh, my God"

The ref so jokingly said, "Enjoy the lot of the game lad." I hate him.

So the match started up. I had a lot more possession of the ball than I ever had before. I cleared the ball moved up to the goal and suddenly I saw my left wing man was boxed in. I knew what was coming next. I was going to get the ball. "Holy crap."
Sure enough, I got the ball and cranked the ball towards the goal and it just missed on the outside.

Heartbreaker...but still amazing.

They voted me **** of the match, jokingly of course. And this person has to drink what is called a dirty pint. You don't want to know. But I am of course a DTU, I thrive on WETSU. o anything they gave me would be a piece of cake.

Needless to say as I drank this pint and the football club started chanting Ma-re-o and then USA. I felt once again that feeling of belonging that I haven't felt since I saw a freshman just entering the gates of the DTU kingdom through New Member Education.

Probably the best night of my life.
