And Gracing the stage...

Monday way a great day. I was however, incredibly exhausted for some reason. I had my Musical Style and Historical Culture lecture yesterday with my favorite 60 year old collegiate. Before I got to class on Monday, I had the desire to take a nice warm shower and play some music from my i tunes. So I turned on my computer and expected Windows to show up like always.

Not the case...

I believe my computer has crashed faster than a rock star on crack. I, however have a fantastically incredible flat mate who has been helping as much as he can in the restoration of Windows upon my computer. The good news is that all my files have been backed-up. So I did not lose any major work. He will devote all of Wednesday to getting my computer back to normal.

That is why this blog entry is sort of late. But no worries!

Today, was laundry day. I get very aggrivated when I think of the laundry situation at this school. It costs £1.60 to wash a load of laundry this is $3.25 when it is horribly converted into American dollars.

But this is the major monstrosity... 20p per 6 minutes of laundry which adds up to 2 dollars for a half an hour of drying clothes! Total rip off.

This evening I had my jazz piano class which I was freaked out about. The assignment for today was to prepare a Thelonius Monk piece titled "Well You Needn't" This was probably the hardest jazz piece I've played in my life.

At the end of the class however, we did a speed versiobn of a 12 bar blues where everyone in the class got a chance to play a two piano 12 bar blues duet with the professor. You did a solo and he played accompaniment. In between people he would play some interlude music that was very appropriate for a jazz concert. I could almost hear in the background as he played the interlude, " And ladies a gentlemen, now gracing the stage next is... Maaaaaaaaario Clopton!!!!!!!" (spotlight) (crowd cheers here)

It was so great... my improv while not spectacular still got applause at the end. This made me feel great considering, one... not everyone got an applause and two... it was started by one of the best jazz pianists in the class.

YES!!!

Welp, tomorrow I do not have a game, nor do I have class. So I think I will be doing a lot of practicing a catching up on the pages upon pages upon pages of reading I need to do.

Cheers!
