Halloween London-style

So what I gather from Brits is that their halloween apparel tends to be the most bloody, deadly, or scary possible costumes. I probably saw 15 students with fake gun shot wounds last night. But on the contrast I saw two mimes and... two preppy Americans dressing as preppy americans.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen preppy americans dressing as stereotypiocally preppy americans. I told you all yesterday that I felt extremely ill so as a result I decided to call it a night rather early last night. Well as I was reading Act 16 in the Bible talking about Paul and silas I heard a rumble through my door. It turns out one of my flat mates Justine, was going to the Ministry of Sound (~ an apparently amazing club) for All Hollows Eve. She decided to dress up as Brittant Spears 1998 edition - fit with cartigan sweater, shirt and tie combo and of course the skirt. I got so excited at the idea of dressing even more preppily than I currently dress that somehow I got the energy to put on some extremely preppy attire as well. We ended up going to the student union where there was this scary punk rock girl performing. She ran into the crowd and just started bumping into people. She came towards me and I put up the dukes. She immediately turned the other way... I wasn't really gonna hit her, but I wasn't in the mood to be bumped.

It ended up being a very fun occasion and to top it off I woke up this morning feeling much better. Praise Jesus :)

Tonight is the scrammble to get emergency funds for France considering the mega dilemma that is happening back in Ohio- I may have to do an Ohio cameo before the month is out. Let's just pray.

Cheers and Happy Halloween

Lacrimosa...

Today, I am ill. But what makes it even worse is that the past two days have been the nicest days in weeks and I am stuck sleeping in my room. But that's ok because yesterday I dropped off my laptop to be repaired AND I got to watch Legally Blonde the Musical. I must say, it is a brilliant piece of staging and choreography. Personally, the singing was just ok at times- but overall it was a success.

Being here in London has allowed me to sort out all the possibilities of things that I would like to do after graduating. I have yet to solidify my plans in teaching, law school, grad school to become an education administrator or to move to europe and start a career. I've excepted the fact that its ok that I have such fabulous possibilities... for now I will leave it at that.

But in the mean time Halloween is tomorrow and I have a voice lesson on thursday and I will venture to Nice, France this weekend so I must get better pronto!

"Oh my god, oh my god you guys"

This morning, I got an extra hour of sleep... yes. I needed it because I ventured off to St. Pauls Cathedral for church today. St. Paul's is the unofficial center of the anglican church built inspired by the mind of Christopher Wren in its modern form. This building has been a true testiment to the relentlessness of English spirit. It has survived in some form the great fire, and both nazi germany blitz

When I got off of the tube I immeidately heard the bells. It was a beautiful sound. All I did was follow the bells for direction to the cathedral. Upon entrance you look into the nave and straight towards the alter. Then when youre seated you look up and see the most beautiful paintings on the walls. There is one piece of the wall that made me shake. It was a painting of Jesus Light of the World. Depicting Jesus surrounded by a golden aura similar to chad bakers orange glow in the midst of darkness.

The actual service was 92% sung by the choir and yet we still had to stand. That wasn't so fun considering the long night I had. But nevertheless it made me appreciate the building so much more.

The lesson of the day was spoken (not sung) and really hit me. I am at a school where religion and spirituality is not really top priority in life. I also consider myself to be jovial in my youth but I do keep an eye to the sky for guidance. The lesson was basically centered around Jesus saying that We didn't chooseh him. He chose us. And because of that fact no matter what our faults are as humans it doesn't matter because e have been chosen for a reason and nothing can force God to turn his back to us. Quite lovely.

After the service I was gonna sight see and go to the tower of london. But it was a rainy english day today. instead i returned back to new cross and took a much needed nap.

Today was a sports blitz in london:

Arsenal (sworn football enemy for me) vs Liverpool
Tottenham (my footie club of choice here in london) vs Blackburn
and

Giants vs Miami Dolphins!!!!!!!!!

Excellent! Well I'm off to eat dinner...

By the way, I need to tell you how good I am eating here. Yesterday I made lamb and sweet potatos with a salad on the side. All types of Delicious.

Tonight fried chicken, just because I can.

Cheers!

Beer Pong in the Halls

In the flat above mine, Beer pong was actively being played. That's right that good old American game of whit and stamina has been brought over to the UK. I had a chance to talk to my family last night...it was good to hear from them. Nothing major happened except the beer pong. Later in the night we decided to go to the student union and see what was happening and it turns out...it was FREE!!!! I saw a couple of football mates there including Goalie (his name is Jay) but he's goalie to me.

This morning I slept in a little and started off the morning the right way with tea and some delicious cereal. Tonight will be Spamalot with John!!!!!

til then mate!

Shoot it Mario!!!

So yesterday was another football match on a particularly cold English day. I was a sub for this game since there are so many people in the club. We were of course suppose to win this game. Well. we had one very unlucky penalty go through our goal, one miss by the goally and one defensive screw up that took the game from a definate win to a blow-out... until

It was seven minutes til the end of the match. And my captain calls me in to play...but not as a defensive centre back but as a centre mid (?) What the hell to they do! And keep in mind I was wearing one shin pad because one of my mates had forgot his other pad. My captain reassuringly said, "Mario, I apologize in advance if you get hurt." Mario: "Oh, my God"

The ref so jokingly said, "Enjoy the lot of the game lad." I hate him.

So the match started up. I had a lot more possession of the ball than I ever had before. I cleared the ball moved up to the goal and suddenly I saw my left wing man was boxed in. I knew what was coming next. I was going to get the ball. "Holy crap."
Sure enough, I got the ball and cranked the ball towards the goal and it just missed on the outside.

Heartbreaker...but still amazing.

They voted me **** of the match, jokingly of course. And this person has to drink what is called a dirty pint. You don't want to know. But I am of course a DTU, I thrive on WETSU. o anything they gave me would be a piece of cake.

Needless to say as I drank this pint and the football club started chanting Ma-re-o and then USA. I felt once again that feeling of belonging that I haven't felt since I saw a freshman just entering the gates of the DTU kingdom through New Member Education.

Probably the best night of my life.

The Greatest Weekend in Human History

This weekend I travelled to Edinburgh, Scotland. We left Friday and stayed until Sunday morning. Upon our departure on Friday, I had no idea what I was getting into. This city will be one of the places that I return to in the future. What is so great about Edinburgh is the atmosphere. It is a nice sized city but is managable. The traffic isn't as hectic as London so you don't worry about getting run over all the time.

While in Scotland I visited three main historic places. I went to Edinburgh Castle which holds the "Crown Jewels" of Scotland. This castle is so wonderful and the history within its walls is immense. I also visited Si Walter Scotts memorial and I actually climbed up to the top with a friend. I think it stands at about 500 feet or something. It was high enough to get a great view of the city. Although the climb up the stairs was... nothing short of interesting especially if you are 6' 3''.

Friday evening the lot of us did the City of the Dead tour which was a historically based tour of Edinburghs most historically deadly sites. Edinburgh is supposedly one of the worlds most paranormally active cities on the planet. We saw the sights of where they would hang people and where the city put their mass graves. We even went through a graveyard that is actively "haunted" by Mackenzies ghost. The story in a nut shell is that Scotland and England had this epic battle for Scots rights. Well the Scots lost horrifically, so the English marched them back to Edinburgh. Upon the English arrival in the city, the captured Scotish warriors had to round up their entire families and present them to the English military. All who were kin to the warriors were subject to the most horrific punishment I've ever heard. The captured Scots and their families were sentenced to 5 months lying face down during the heart of what happened to be the worse winter on record. During the tour we were stopped on the grounds where the punishment happened. At the end of the punishment, those who survived were let go. But this Mackenzie guy wanted the punishment to continue. Because of his adament desire for the carnage to continue, when he died, they buried him just outside of the punishment area. And it is said because of his angry spirit in life, the Mackenzie poltergeist is still active today. People who have gone on this tour have been subject to shock and seizures and random pains after having been in this graveyard...creepy.

Nevertheless, it as super fun. Right by out hostel on Cockburn St. there was a pub that had a live duet with fiddle and guitar with the two guys singing. They played traditional scotland songs and some pop stuff as well (with a lovely rendition of Come on Ilene). Saturday night I watched the England v South Africa Rugby match and went to this pub. It was truly a Scottish night. I felt totally Scottish... Saturday night, I was a Scot.

Sunday morning, after a late night, I decided to go to Church at St. Andrews Church. St. Andrew is the patron Saint of Scotland and the central church of the Church of Scotland. I took communion and was unofficially welcomed into the body of Christ as a true Scot!

All in all, I'm going back and nothing is stopping me.

O flower of Scotland
When will we see
Your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against him
Proud Edward's army
And sent him homeward
Tae think again

Crazy Day in New Cross

Today was incredibly long. I had an 11:30 lecture followed by opera, followed by a study blitz involved two strauss waltz that I needed to analyze before I departed for Scotland TOMORROW. Then I had my voice lesson at 6- all of this on one bowl of cereal this morning.

Nevertheless, I feel I am now more than ever before totally submersed in London and Goldsmiths. I feel like a true londoner, a true goldsmiths student and a tue musician.

I have been working on this piece that is inspired by the sounds of the London Underground train and I love what I have so far.

This entry will be short and sweet considering it is now almost 8 in the evening and I have yet to eat anything ince 10 AM!

Cheers!

And Gracing the stage...

Monday way a great day. I was however, incredibly exhausted for some reason. I had my Musical Style and Historical Culture lecture yesterday with my favorite 60 year old collegiate. Before I got to class on Monday, I had the desire to take a nice warm shower and play some music from my i tunes. So I turned on my computer and expected Windows to show up like always.

Not the case...

I believe my computer has crashed faster than a rock star on crack. I, however have a fantastically incredible flat mate who has been helping as much as he can in the restoration of Windows upon my computer. The good news is that all my files have been backed-up. So I did not lose any major work. He will devote all of Wednesday to getting my computer back to normal.

That is why this blog entry is sort of late. But no worries!

Today, was laundry day. I get very aggrivated when I think of the laundry situation at this school. It costs £1.60 to wash a load of laundry this is $3.25 when it is horribly converted into American dollars.

But this is the major monstrosity... 20p per 6 minutes of laundry which adds up to 2 dollars for a half an hour of drying clothes! Total rip off.

This evening I had my jazz piano class which I was freaked out about. The assignment for today was to prepare a Thelonius Monk piece titled "Well You Needn't" This was probably the hardest jazz piece I've played in my life.

At the end of the class however, we did a speed versiobn of a 12 bar blues where everyone in the class got a chance to play a two piano 12 bar blues duet with the professor. You did a solo and he played accompaniment. In between people he would play some interlude music that was very appropriate for a jazz concert. I could almost hear in the background as he played the interlude, " And ladies a gentlemen, now gracing the stage next is... Maaaaaaaaario Clopton!!!!!!!" (spotlight) (crowd cheers here)

It was so great... my improv while not spectacular still got applause at the end. This made me feel great considering, one... not everyone got an applause and two... it was started by one of the best jazz pianists in the class.

YES!!!

Welp, tomorrow I do not have a game, nor do I have class. So I think I will be doing a lot of practicing a catching up on the pages upon pages upon pages of reading I need to do.

Cheers!

Speakers Corner Again

Can I just add how much I love Speakers Corner? I love the fact that random people can speak about anything they want to and people come from all over London to hear them speak. Some speakers talk about war and ethics, many about religion. Some speakers simply stand in their designated spot with a sign that says free hugs. Of course I took full advantage of the hugs... after all its free!

I voweled that I would not give into the temptation to try American food while I was in London. But I got the craving for a McFlurry that I could not resist. So after we were finsihed with Hype park, me and a friend took to McDonalds to get a flurry. Much to my surprise, a british mcflurry looks more like a milkshake than an actual american version of what a mcflurry looks like. I was instantly saddened. But I snapped out of it in time to still eat the deliciously melted treat.

Today I watched West Side Story and it was quite an amazing experience...so many sexually implied messages in that movie.

Tomorrow, classes start early so I had best get to bed.

Cheers

Camden

Ouch! Today my team played the Goldsmiths 2nd football team and they were good. I was still having a go at learning all that I could about playing football, while playing in a game. I had a few touches and I kicked the ball out of our zone several times... I also acciedentally kicked the ball into our goal to score a goal for the other team.

I had a lot of hustle today nevertheless. Today I tripped over an attacker while trying to tackle the ball. I unfortunately hurt my ankle and lower shin area. This still hurts as I speak. But my friend Aleve will help me out. There was one player on the opposition that was very active and he moved arounf a whole lot. Along with his quick feet he had a big head. He was not one of the nicest players and he felt like he could run all over me because I was inexperienced. What an idiot. Why prey on the dude who has little to no idea of what he is doing. So because he was getting on my nerves I tripped him while attempting to tackle the ball... Yes on purpose. And yes... it felt good. If there was a ref I would have recieved a yellow card but due to the fact that I was already injured I didn't care.

I ended up coming out of the game because of my injury so I received a much needed break.

This evening I decided was gonna be a boys night out. Me and my goalie Jay went off into Centrsl to meet up with some of his friends from his home country Finland. We had a ball today. In their dorm they had a pirate party happening on the top roof area. We then went ot a pub and just chilled a watched some football highlights while 80s music played in the background.

Jay and I then began our adventures attempting to find the right bus back to New Cross. Meanwhile, we met along the way some very interesting and very drunk people.

At 1:46 AM We met two girls from the USA who were looking for the #100 bus (which doesn't even exist in the direction of thier destination) And Mario realized he had to use the restroom very badly.

At 1:52 AM we crossed in between two double decker busses studidly..

At 1:59 AM we found the right bus and Mario still had to use the potty

At 2:15 AM we were half way back to school

At 2:32 AM Mario finally arrived at his dorm.

All in all, a good night! Well, the sun is about to rise... I should go to sleep.

Cheers

So F****** American!!

Tonight I went clubbing. It needed to happen. I finally got to experience a weeks worth of English studying, along with keeping up with a personal stuff as well. Tonight I had the intentions of hearing an awesome DJ so thats why I shelled out 15 pounds to make that happen. Yeah, it turns out that he will only be DJ-ing beginning @ 4AM and ending @ 6AM!!!1

But... I had fun anyway. The DJ's that were at the club were awesome- particularly this German girl. She was awesome. Nevertheless, I had tons of fun anyway.

I'm having a different kind of fun here in London. I always expect myself to constantlt have fun and be enthused. Honestly, I am in London. While everything is exciting and fun...its also very tiring! So, my fun is always a balancing act in between outgoing fun and just chilling out for a while. I've excepted the fact that my time in London does not have to be a 24/7 romp of fun and craziness. In any case I needn't think about it. All I am going to do is...just live.

Happy Birthday Grandad!

It feels like today

Wednesday... Mario had his first football friendly (scrimmage). I played lright wing and center back for the second half. I had some touches and I got rid of the ball twice! I messed up a lot as well but the point is thatI had so much fun out their. I was intense and played as well as I could. Now, Saturday we play the Goldsmith 2nd team.

I even got some votes for Man of the Game! Great... now I can't suck anymore. My aim is to continously get better and represent for all us football fanatics.

After the game, we toasted to our success at Sports Night at the student union even though all the teams lost (mine lossed 9 to 1). This toast ended up being an incredibly long night off toasting. Nevertheless it was great to be welcomed into the football club. I almost feel like I'm going through pledging again trying to impress and just find my niche.

Today I had my first voice lesson and I enjoyed it very much. We worked solely on vocal technique. I felt as though I was learning to sing all over again. My voice teacher back home will be really proud of the progres just as long as I work like a dog to achieve the sound I want.

Can I just say how much my flat mate rule! Justine is a flat mate of mine and she's a music ed person too and she has an appreciation of peas just like me :) One of my football mates/personal football tutor/ good friend is her bf. Tomorrow we are seeing this techno trance guy that has crazy beats.

I love how football is so embedded in the fiber of europeans. For example, tonight I got the urge to kick the ball around outside so I went out. And sure enough we had a three way game happening. So many tips...

Anywho, it is now going on 2 in the morning and I should have been asleep hours ago.

Night!

Rain in Spain falls mainly in London

The rain here isn't a typical kind of rain. This rain is special. Its almost like God put the sky garden hose on the mist setting on the nozzle. Extremely random but true.

Today I had an America vs UK comparison conversation. At the end we concluded that the different isn't bad or good- its just different and that's ok. Both places has its goods and its bads- as Americans we see the USA as our home-just another place to live. While others see America as a marvelous place that they can't wait to visit and possibly live. I see england as a place that's full of history. A lot ofworld history was essentially controlled by those who were in power in London- and that's pretty amazing.

Not to much happened today... I had one actual class and choir today. We are working on Haydns 2nd Mass in C for our November concert. The choir has some potential... I'll leave it at that. Due to the rain I definately had a decent reason to practice today. I got a whole lot accomplished.

Tonight I watched Matilda. This movie is one of my favorites. Tomorrow is my first football match. I will be premiering on the 3rd team at Center back!

Good night/ morning!

Cheers!

Toys and Heading

Today I took an afternoon to central london with charlie. we spent a lot of time in Hamley's toy store. This place is massive. It is six floors full of all the toys and gadgets any child would want in their possession. .

I had my very first offical class this morning- its called Musical Style and Historical Culture. And we will be concentrating on late 19th centruy Viennese music. So exciting. This time period of music represents my favorite time in history- romanticism and nationalism!!!!!!

There are all sorts of people of all different ages in my class including an older lady who filled our heads with bountiful information that wouldn't normally be important but to her at that exact moment it was dire.

This evening I had football practice where I had my first moments learning how to work with the ball and how to head the ball. Then, we played a quick 15 minute game where I messed up some BUT I got some kudos about my hustle and attempt at a tackle. I chased an attacker down and attempted to tackle the ball. I ended up in log rolling tumble. I got a 'fair play' from the 3rd team captain which made me feel good :)

Its about 11:35 in the evening and I am not gonna go out tonight since football kinda wore me out today. But I hear some noise downstairs, perhaps I will do some snooping!!!

Cheer!!!! (and go Indians)

Wingardium Leviosa

Today, after getting a full nights rest I realized I had an entire day to do whatever I pleased. So I texted some friends and asked if they wanted to go to speakers corne with me today. Speakers corner is past the marble arch of hyde park right on the corner of the park. This is an area where on sunday afternoon people come and complain/debate about anything they choose!

I have so much fun listening to the different Brits rant about nothing. There was this old lady who was convenced that immigration was the source of all of englands problems and theur was another man who thought that love...not bombs or weapons brought down the roman empire.

There were also socialists and religious extremists there as well.

My goal for the day was to find platform 9 3/4 from Harry Potter. It was located in an underground/train station called King's Cross. Surely enough, I found it!! It was all kinds of awesome.
Then after finding the platform we decided to wonder around the train station since the area looked somewhat safe. We ended up stumbling across the british library.

Within this library holds:

two of the four original magna carta copies
handels orignial manuscript for the messiah
beethovens 9th symphony manuscript
ben britten- pencil written war requiem drafts
beethovens tuning fork which was eventually handed off to Gustav Holst
Da Vinci's right to left in italian work on paper
and so much more. These things were just the highlights for me. This place was filled with tons of literary, musical, historical and artistic artifacts that I've only heard about in history class.

All in all, today was an excellent day in London
Cheers!

Football (soccer) Super Star!

Ok, so I'm not a superstar actually far from it but I don't care. I love being part of the team and just learning as I go. Today was football trial #2 and I felt like such a veteran because I knew what to expect. I learned today that I need to be more physical with my play tactics. I've been holding back in fear of being reprimended. But this is actually quite the opposite. No problem :)

Today's football trial took a major toll on my body. But I still got up the energy to go to Chinatown tonight. I went with a flat mate and one of her friends. We ate at this awesome restaurant and just walked around. Then we went to a bakery and got delicious deserts. I ate a lot of sweets. Oops.

Comparitively speaking I'm not a very good football player...yet. But I have three things that will make me progress very quickly:

1) The will to actually learn and take the heat for sucking sometimes
2) People willing to help and finally
3) Lots of Aleve for pain relief

I figure I have very little, if anything at all to lose in this situation. I am not competing for anything nor am I fighting for a special honor. I just want to learn how to play football- that's it. So I'll screw up and do wrong things and mess up completely and drive everyone insane because of my unfamiliarity and I'll love every minute of it. Because I am in London and I will soak up all I can from this experience...even if I come up with a couple of scratches.

Cheers

At Kryda...

Today we had the music week concert consisting of the United Kingdom premiere of Prokofiev's "Songs of our Days." I love this piece of music. While the choral performance was not amazing that still did not take away from how great the music was and how fun the piece was to perform.

After the concert I decided I needed to go have a pint. After four days of six hour rehearsals, I figured it was the least I could do for myself. I enjoyed a Strongbow which is an apple cider and quite delicious :)

I had a bit of a crazy experience at the Hobgolin a local pub by my university. I was just hanging about with some friends and suddenly my choir tutor (american equivalent to professor) came in and met a croud of choir kids there. I was like whoa... my choir teacher is having a pint at a local university pub. That is so Goldsmiths (definition anything avant garde or awesome in any type of way).

I'm really starting to get the feeling for Goldsmiths and London in general. Unfortunately I couldn't do alot of sightseeing this week because of my crazy rehearsal schedule. There is some hope for doing some looking about on Sunday. My plans are to visit some of the cool Harry Potter places and enjoy some Indian food for the first time!

One of my flat mates Justine and her bf slash football teammates were just watching Evita!!!

I love that woman. So fashional...so fascist...so...Argentina!

The Magic Flute

Tonight I went to see the Magic Flute as done by the England National Opera Company. Of course it was brilliant. I loved seeing the differences in between Mark Bakers adaption and the ENO. I must say, the Capital Magic Flute was much more audience friendly and funny. It was witty. ENO the singing was supurb. My favorite singer for the night ended up being a tie. The lady who played the Queen of the night was quite good and Papageno was simply hilarious. He acting his butt of today!

Getting my ticket was much more of a feat than it should have been. I had exactly an hour and a half to get from New Cross (the SE side) all the way to Central London to get my ticket. I was in a tame cramp because today we had a 9:45-12:45 rehearsal for music week and then another rehearsal beginning at 2:00. Using the Underground... should I say more.

I ended up making good time. I only ended up beging about 5 minutes late which translated into still having 10 minutes of time while the choir and orchestra set up for rehearsal.

For the music week performance I am singing in the Prokofiev cantata- Songs of our Days which has some very nice parts in it. The Russian is so hard to run through as the average tempi are 160 bpm :( / :)

Thisis the perfect time to tell you that I made the football team!!!! Our first game is next Wednesday. Yes, Yes, y-e-s!

That's all bloaks- it is now going on 2 AM

Cheers

A Plain and Simple Good Day

Today I had my ears lowered for the first time in London, England. There are barbers across the street from my dorm and I decided the place looked clean enough to enter. The guys are real nice and they cut hair very well. My line ups are extra crispy here. Today I had more rehearsing for the final music week concert on friday. We are coming along on the music and the choralmaster just told us to fake the russian as much as possible if we fall into trouble. Not my best tecnhique but I'm not picky.

This evening I got a whole lot of stuff done including a solid hour and a half of practicing.

This evening at the student union was sports night. If you were part of any sports on campus you came and hung out with the other sports people. the field hockey girls were cool considering i knew two of them :) The football club (my team) were clearly the coolest kids in the place. just kidding. we all had a really good time joking about random stuff.

That's all for today I have an extremely early morning consisting of a 9:45 rehearsal!

cheers!

Its All Russian to me

Today was day two of rehearsals in music week. II had a record twp rehearsals today for the same performacne both at three hours each. The music still does not sound right but its coming along. Its a whole lot of russian that we have to learn. Then after all that russian fun I had my first jazz piano class. I knew it was going to be interesting seeing jazz taught in a country other than the US.

he first activity of the class was a live audition in front of the class. Holy God. The tutor (professor) told us to do a standard and a blues progression. I attempted a bit of Autumn Leaves (special thanks to Dr. Coxs' Jazz Audiation class) and I did ok on the blues progressions. There are some really incredible piano players in the class and I just happen to be the youngest and only American in the class. So in the tutors eyes I have a special responsibility to do well in this class because jazz was born in America.

Today, I had a thought. The british love their lunch hours. Except the lunch hours are never just an hour. Its pretty much up to the luncher. In the US when you break for lunch someone covers your desk or whatever. In the UK when you go out for lunch they padlock the doors and perhaps do not show back up for hours. This is really funny. There are two schools right next to goldsmiths campus. I can actually see the school children playing in recess. Might I comment that it seems as if students are always in recess. From the beginning of the day till about 2:00 in the afternoon children are playing. Do they learn? I guess the teachers are on their lunch hour(s) and therefore do not mind the children during the day. So the children have formed their own school day consisting of nothing but recess. A truly great day.

I Came to London for the Beautiful Weather... that's a lie :)

Today, it rained.

The sun made a cameo for part of the day but then it went back stage again.

Today was kind of an off day. Although, being the guy I don't expect all days to be perfect. I'll tell you that it didn't help that I was wet for most of the day :)

While traveleing to Greenwich by way of the Trinity college of music I happened to stopped by another free museum!!!
I enjoyed an afternoon in the National Maritime Museum in all its naval glory! The UK is full of great naval history. It was through the ships and maritime operations that the British Empire came to be. It still amazes me how many free museums there are. They are still top quality as well!

Mozarts Magic Flute is playing this week with the London Opera so I'm gonna make sure I get some tickets! My goal is to see one music related event every week. Next week, The Lion King!!!!!!!!!

Tonight, I think I will stay in hang with some flat mates and chill out a bit. I believe today, I had my first, "One of those days" Day. On the bright side- i'm still in London, so the world is not so bad!!

Cheers!
